Octopus makes a rolling armor with a coconut. [video]
Always reblog for cephalopods♡
second order tool usage. A mark of higher intellect.
Okay but is the octopus scared and using the shell as a defense and faster getaway or is it rolling down the hill…playing?
Octopuses love to solve puzzles and play. To be kept at aquariums, they must have a chest of enrichment toys, or they will try to escape.
Even with enrichment sometimes they try to escape, for kicks/to make the humans mad.
Cthulhu is wise
Ok but… WHY don’t we have a video game where you play an octopus solving puzzles in your aquarium with all your octopus skills, then escaping to the ocean?
Dragon: “HALT TRAVELER! THIS BRIDGE IS UNDER MY CONTROL! PAY THE TOLL OR CROSS THIS RIVER ELSEWHERE!”
Knight: “Nay foul beast! These are the lands of men! I shall pay no such toll, and what’s more I shall slay you rid this land of your tyranny!”
Dragon: “TYRANNY!? FOOLISH MAN! THIS BRIDGE IS OVER A HUNDRED YEARS OLD AND IN DIRE NEED OF REPAIRS! THE STONES ARE ERODING AND THERE ARE TERMITES IN THE WOOD!”
Knight: “… what?”
Dragon: “I GIVE THIS BRIDGE ANOTHER FIVE YEARS BEFORE IT COLLAPSES! I’D RATHER AVOID THAT AND PREVENT SOME POOR HUMAN FROM GETTING HURT!
Knight: ”…“
Dragon: “THE TOLL IS TEN GOLD PIECES.”
Knight: “… Okay.”
Dragon: “ALSO, DOWN THE ROAD, A FRIEND OF MINE IS RAISING FUNDS TO FIX A FARMER’S ROOF! IF YOU COULD ASSIST THEM AS WELL WE’D BE VERY GRATEFUL!”
THIS FUCKING THING GOT OVER 250 NOTES IN LESS THAN A DAY WHAT THE HELL.
Tumblr appreciates a good fable about the importance of tax revenue to provide civil services and maintain infrastructure.
“Altheous”
- art by Tazio Bettin, colored by Erica Eren Angiolini - from the comic ‘Will or Iron #12’, written by George Mann
And so, on issue 12 ends (or does it?) probably the biggest love letter to Dark Angels fans, ever produced (outside the Black Library stuff, of course). And it has been on hell of a ride. The story was good, a little predictable, but good, but the art… simply amazing. The attention to detail that went into drawing the characters and all the other “units” was out of this world. If I were to have a minor nitpick, it would be that the colors were a little too bright and crisp, and it all looked a bit too clean. But that’s all it is, a nitpick regarding a personal preference. All in all, a solid comic and an absolute treat for me as a DA fan!
One character (Trick) had refused to accompany the rest of the party, so my character sent a (hell)hound to get him.
Me: I send the hound to go bugger Trick.
Everyone: “…” *starts laughing*
Me: *realises what I said* “Badger! I meant badger!”
GM: “Did not know that you guys were that kinky!”

The assumption that the big campaign villain is evil by default is such a silly assumption :p
The librarian leans in close. “Books… unavailable to the average citizen, warlock? I believe I can help you.” She leads you through winding halls until you come to a tiny doorway. Surreptitiously, she slips a small key into the lock and motions you in. Torches flicker, and as your eyes adjust to the light, you see that the room is full floor-to-cieling with… gnome erotica.
